hello real food

while in albuquerque, i got my first taste of real food with a banana and avocado.  wasn't able to actually eat much of it but it's the effort that counts.

grammie helped us plant a few roses, herbs and vegetables while she was here. we are now seeing the fruits of our hard work...and even got to eat a cucumber. we can't wait to eat the organic tomatoes and bell peppers and top our food with all the yummy herbs.

i completed my first vacation bible school event and the best part was that mommy helped on the decorating committee and also did the pre-k bible study sessions. she did great! our church did a big party following service on sunday full of blow-up slides, water slides, bounce houses and lots of yummy food. i even got to get on stage with the other kids and sing some vacation bible school songs for the church. we had so much fun.

for valentine's day, mommy and daddy made the whole day really special by serving food that was either in the shape of hearts, or was red or pink. everything was super yummy. we even wore red for the day and played really well together.

everett's 1-year birthday: eating my cake

i absolutely loved my cake! mommy found a yummy recipe for homemade moonpie cake. with major help from grammie and my great aunt pam, it was a delicious chocolate cake filled and frosted with homemade marshmallow cream and covered in a chocolate glaze. they also sprinkled yummy crushed graham crackers all over both layers. the main cake was shaped like a moon and i had my very own small smash cake. i definitely didn't mind getting messy for all that goodness!!!

i've been sick with a cold lately and i'm now starting to get better so my appetite is coming back. mommy decided to try out a slice of pear with me and it was a hit.

i've been so interested in the food that mommy, daddy and owen eat that i watch them carefully and occasionally reach for it myself. with all that being said, mommy and daddy decided to try out some rice cereal. didn't go over too well with me.
