yardwork...on the job training

posted by owen

i love when daddy mows the lawn and uses the edger. i usually sit and watch but today i got to get a new perspective on yardwork. it's too dangerous to be out in the yard while daddy mows the lawn and does the edging, but mommy and daddy figured out a way to allow me to be in the lawn with daddy, but be safe at the same time. i got to ride along as daddy did the mowing and edging. wonder if this will carry over into snow shoveling.

this is so cool!

everett in observing mode

sometimes it seems like everett has three gears: sleeping, eating or crying. so we like to capture those moments when he is awake and content.

i love my boppy pillow

not just for nursing anymore. i love spending some of my awake periods on my boppy pillow both on my back and tummy, but it does get kind of comfy. and we all know what happens when a baby gets comfy. zzzzzzzz!

happy 1 month birthday everett!

posted by everett

mommy and daddy decided to take monthly pictures up until my 1-year birthday like they did with my big brother owen. my brother got a chocolate cake on his 1-month birthday, which mommy and daddy ate, but i got nothing. ah, the life of the second child.

helping out

posted by mommy

today is our first day of daddy going back to work...so it's just the three of us - owen, baby everett, and me. owen is such a good big brother and helper that whenever he hears everett crying, he runs over, lays down beside him, and gives him his pacifier. oh if only this moment hadn't been followed up with a threat of time out for something not so helpful or wonderful!!

stairs...then and now

posted by owen

my speed on the stairs has increased since i started sliding. i discovered at an early age that sliding on the stairs was a lot faster than walking them.

i love my tummy time

friends in cool places

posted by owen

it was nice and cool today so i hung out with eliana outside. we've become quite the pair when it comes to yelling, running and acting silly. it's good to have such a great friend right across the street who has parents that love me just as much as mommy and daddy love their daughter.

mommy's handmade peek-a-boo pod

posted by mommy

one of the hobbies i picked up after owen's arrival was knitting. i have really enjoyed making various hats and a few blankets for our family and friends (haven't ventured much past that). once we found out we were expecting again, i pulled out one of my favorite knitting books - welcoming home baby the handcrafted way by tricia drake - and selected two really special, unique, and yummy projects. this peek-a-boo pod was one of them. unfortunately it doesn't have much use beyond being a great photo prop for newborns, but it makes for awesome pics (thanks to the hubby!).

bathing everett

posted by everett

mommy and daddy decided to try me out in the infant tub and i wasn't so thrilled by it. it's one thing to give me a bath, its another to wake me up from a warm, cozy nap to plunge me in water. i guess this is the price i have to pay to stay clean.

this is supposed to be soothing?

owen, help me!!!!

ah, nothing like a soothing binkie

baking with grammie

posted by owen

i got to help grammie make zucchini bread. the hardest part was keeping my hands out of the batter and waiting for the bread to finish baking. once i got a taste of the finished product, it was yummy!
