i have a funny story to tell. it's about owen. or rather, it involves owen. and his bear.
i usually tell owen to stay downstairs while i put everett in his pack 'n play for naptime. most of the time he ends up coming upstairs anyway...and making too much noise...and having a frustrated mommy tell him to go back downstairs. but the other day while i was putting everett down, i never heard owen stomping up the stairs. i walked out of the room and it was eerily quiet, both up and downstairs. when i walked into the kitchen, this is what i found: owen had put his bear in his chair, grabbed two clementines from the fridge (leaving both the fruit drawer and fridge door open), placed one clementine in front of the bear and proceeded to peel the other for himself. when he noticed me standing there, he smiled and said, "mommy, bear likes oranges."
unfortunately i didn't get a photo of it at the time (being side-tracked with this laugh-out-loud moment, as well as trying to decide whether i should take the opportunity to teach about leaving fridge doors open!). so we decided to prompt a semi-staged recreation last night, asking owen if he thought maybe his bear might want an orange. the result was the same...except we made him close the fridge this time.
