owen, his bear, and a snack

posted by mommy

i have a funny story to tell. it's about owen. or rather, it involves owen. and his bear.

i usually tell owen to stay downstairs while i put everett in his pack 'n play for naptime. most of the time he ends up coming upstairs anyway...and making too much noise...and having a frustrated mommy tell him to go back downstairs. but the other day while i was putting everett down, i never heard owen stomping up the stairs. i walked out of the room and it was eerily quiet, both up and downstairs. when i walked into the kitchen, this is what i found: owen had put his bear in his chair, grabbed two clementines from the fridge (leaving both the fruit drawer and fridge door open), placed one clementine in front of the bear and proceeded to peel the other for himself. when he noticed me standing there, he smiled and said, "mommy, bear likes oranges."

unfortunately i didn't get a photo of it at the time (being side-tracked with this laugh-out-loud moment, as well as trying to decide whether i should take the opportunity to teach about leaving fridge doors open!). so we decided to prompt a semi-staged recreation last night, asking owen if he thought maybe his bear might want an orange. the result was the same...except we made him close the fridge this time.

wearing my favorite bear

posted by owen

i've recently enjoyed playing with my bear. i love to talk to him, put diapers on him, help him go potty, wash his hands and even eat meals with him. i often see both mommy and daddy wearing everett so i thought to myself, why not wear my bear. so mommy helped me out.

is my belly suppose to stick out like this?

all things everett

posted by mommy and daddy

so what's everett up to these days? well he's awake more and has longer spells of contentment without being held. he enjoys his baths and loves watching every fan in the house. he has started to sit up in his bebe pod and is oh so close to being able to turn from his back to his tummy. we finally feel like he's becoming a good car traveler like his brother, although he does have his fussy moments in the car, which owen does not appreciate. he's smiling up a storm and laughing even when his brother catapults himself off every chair and bed in the house and comes within inches of a sibling collision. finally, he's developed a preference for sucking his fingers, eats like a champ (can't you tell!) and is showered with love each day by his mommy, daddy and brother.

enjoys his bouncy seat

what a content baby...most of the time

getting stronger

nothing beats some tummy time

he's so curious

interacting with his toys

enjoys time in his swing...as long as we tuck him in,
snug as a bug in a rug

the baby and the fan

posted by everett

there is something about those ceiling fans that crack me up. all mommy and daddy have to do is turn on the fan and watch me do my thing.

decorating the tree

posted by mommy and daddy

tonight we started to decorate our christmas tree. it was a wonderful evening with owen helping with the tree and everett practicing his finger sucking technique. these are the moments that make life so precious. decorating the tree, christmas music playing, and the joyful feeling of being together as a family.

helping owen put ornaments on the tree

explaining the significance of each ornament

this was owen's 2011 ornament to remember our trip to florida

owen knew exactly where he wanted to put it

everett spent the evening working on his finger sucking

we think he finally got it

owen loved helping with the tree

a piece of each tree since 2010...when our family grew.
eventually they will all be ornaments

no accidents!

today is the first day that i wore the same pull-up diaper from when i woke up to when i went to sleep (not including naptime). i'm getting better at telling mommy and daddy when i have to go potty so they can help me take off my diaper and use the big-boy potty. the fact that lightning mcqueen's number never faded (it only fades when i go potty in my diaper) means i was accident free.

i hear gampa can hang here for an hour with something to read

everett's 100-day birthday

posted by everett

like my daddy and brother, i honored my korean heritage by celebrating 100-days of health. the celebration usually consists of a white cake, money, gifts, etc....none of which i can use right now. i hear that the cake was delicious.

if only i were able to eat this cake

my older brother was more than happy to help out
