we are making it a point to try to take advantage of this wonderful state as the kids have gotten older. colorado is full of tons of wonderful mountain trails, stream and parks and we are going to try to spend more time exploring them. we spent some time at the lair o' the bear park and got to walk on a few of the trails and see lots of fun things. we even saw a few people fly fishing in the stream.
it will be exciting to experience nature and get away from the routine of city/suburb surroundings. we love colorado!!!!!

everett's 2-year birthday

i turned two on aug 24th and got to celebrate it in parts. i celebrated the first part in albuquerque with grammie, gampa and greats, and i celebrated the 2nd part at home in colorado. i've really been into cooking lately and i'm always pulling out pots and pans and trying my hand in cooking. so i got lots of cooking gear for my birthday. so much fun! the whole family got me cooking stuff like a coffee maker, pizza set, pasta set, pots and pans, a kitchen, etc. now i'm ready to do some creative cooking.

fighting dragons

owen's new favorite movie is "how to train your dragon". the movie starts with vikings and dragons fighting each other but ends with them working together. however, owen and everett seem to be focused on the fighting part. oh yeah, it was also backwards day so both boys were wearing their clothes backwards. they are definitely having more and more fun together.

ella's 4-year birthday

i went to my friend ella's 4-year birthday party over the weekend. her birthday is 2 weeks after mine. she had it at a stable with real horses. it was so much fun. we got to eat yummy snacks, play tag, climb trees and of course, ride horses!!!!

2014 touch-a-truck event

we had so much fun at last year's touch-a-truck event, we decided to go to the one this year as well. since everett is older, it was so much more fun. owen and daddy waited in line to take a ride on the monster truck, but the line was too long to wait our turn. maybe the monster truck ride will happen next year. we saw so many cool  things such as semis, dump trucks, fire trucks, garbage trucks, helicopters, police cars, tractors, buses, monster trucks, race cars, etc.
