a family adventure

on saturday, we went together on a little adventure. our favorite cloth diaper company, kanga care (the maker of the awesome rumparooz diaper from right here in colorado!), had set up a discovery adventure as part of a couple of new prints they are releasing next week. dragon eggs were hidden in various locations all over the u.s. and canada and clues were given to us on where to find each egg. we decided to join a few other mommas and their kiddos to find the "golden" egg, which was hidden right here in denver. the clue led us to the trading post at red rocks park.

after enjoying all the fun and celebrating with the momma who found the actual egg (it was hiding in a tree!), our family stuck around and explored just a bit of the park and amphitheater. i am the only one who has ever been there so it was fun for the boys and james to see such beautiful views. the boys also really loved seeing the humongous rocks and wanted to climb them all.

we finished our adventure with a fun lunch and ice cream at the cow eatery in morrison. the kiddos were all so tired, they all three fell asleep on the way home!

last night was my second time going to the pool. we all went to play for the evening and brought along dinner. I really do love the water! most of the time I hang out in my big float while the boys do crazy jumps off the side or practice their swimming stuff. for now, i'm in it for the snacks and the splash. 

everett riding on two wheels

i finally did it. i learned to ride a two wheel bike before my 4th birthday! after Several months of finally having fully mastered my strider balance bike, it took daddy less than an hour to show me how to ride on two wheels.

even though i'm not yet walking (but very close), i have mastered climbing up the stairs. now if i can only figure out how to go down the stairs. the family is now on high alert as i can dart up the stairs in an instant and before they know it, i'm yelling from the top of the stairs all by myself!

great's 88th birthday celebration

we all drove to albuquerque in may to help celebrate greats' 88th birthday. we started her birthday day off right with all the boys (daddy and gampa included) bringing her a large coffee and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. later, the girls picked greats up and took her to lunch and to have pedicures (minus eloise who went back home to take a nap). the day ended with a surprise dinner with good friends at greats' house. we loved celebrating her throughout the entire day.

with the warm weather finally here, we got some new outdoor gear. everett is gliding really well on his strider, eloise is chillin' in her hand-me-down blue push car, and i'm zoomin' on my new bike (an early birthday present for me!). we also scored an awesome deal on a brand new basketball goal! plus, everett and i got well-used skateboards at the neighborhood garage sale for $5 apiece. look out summer, here we come in all our sweaty glory.

i got my new glasses just before we went to albuquerque! not only can i see better now, but i'm also the definition of style! we like to keep things funky and fun around here and these glasses fit right in!
