awana graduates!

posted by owen and everett

our first year in awana is now complete. we had lots of fun and memorized lots of bible verses. mommy and daddy were group leaders so it was a family activity for us. we're looking forward to doing it again next year.

a colorado mother's day

posted by owen and everett

being in colorado, we celebrated mother's day as only us coloradoans can...with snow!

watch everett, this is how you eat snow

the only thing better than tasting snow is tasting snow in may

everett quickly got the hang of it

i can't believe we are dressed in snow clothes...on mother's day!

even snow couldn't stop us from spending time outside with
the worlds greatest mommy!

so blessed

what a wonderful mother's day this has been! it all started on Friday when the boys surprised me with a fun family outing to a local pottery painting studio! james even researched it and found one that uses all water-based non-toxic paints! we had a lot of fun although evs attention span was fairly short that day! o chose to paint his own little puppy, daddy and ev painted a mug for me that has both boys' handprints, and i painted a plate. can't wait to go pick them all up next weekend!

o got to work right away

it was no surprise that he wanted to paint a doggie,
and he chose orange!

ev had fun the first few minutes

but he quickly had enough of being made to stay in one place,
and not do everything by himself!

all three of these boys have truly stolen my heart!
i am truly blessed to have been given the privilege to be "mommy" to two amazing little boys and am so glad to be given the chance to celebrate that together!

i even got a special apron, goggles, and a button/patch for each one! i can't wait to go back next month!

happy easter

posted by owen and everett

for easter this year, we went to a big egg hunt and fun day in our local hometown of parker. it was lots of fun, and there were lots of kids! fortunately there were also lots of eggs. we enjoyed participating in the egg "hunt", playing in the playground, and bouncing in the bounce house. there was also balloon animals, face painting, prize wheels, and obstacle courses. some of our eggs even had yummy candy in them (mom only allowed us one piece each!) and golden tickets for special prizes at the prize booth.

the eggs were super colorful and really easy to "find"!

the 1-year-olds went first and ev got 5 or 6 eggs!

going through our eggs to see what was inside

picking out our one piece to eat and giving the rest to mommy

ev had a chocolate rice bunny and owen chose sixlets

owen chose a small black puppy at the prize booth with the golden
ticket he found in one of his eggs. he sure does love all puppies!

we didn't do any special meal for easter, but mommy did make
resurrection rolls. they were a great way to represent jesus' body being
covered in oils and spices and being put in the tomb, then to see His
body no longer there and the "tomb" empty. plus, they were delicious!
