yesterday was my birthday. it didn't turn out exactly the way we had planned. james was going to take me and the boys out to lunch where we could sit outside and enjoy the nice weather. instead, we spent the day indoors, tired and sick. what started as a day with promise ended in the ER. that's right, we had our first visit as parents to the ER. and it wasn't o, our crazy rambunctious 2-year-old, that put us there. it was everett. our very sick little one. unfortunately, earlier this week i passed on my very yucky cold to him and it got bad enough that our pediatrician felt we needed to take him in last night to be seen and heard. fortunately for us, God was watching out for him and all his symptoms really are just a horrible cold - rapid breathing, wet mucousy cough, and congestion so severe that he's lost what little voice he even has due to post-nasal drip (seriously, like kim carnes in infant form!). poor little man. i cried for him. and held him. and his daddy slept with him in the chair. again. so sad.
on a much brighter note, though, my three favorite guys did surprise me with an awesome, amazingly heartfelt, and total keepsake of a gift, and i wanted to share it with you. a downer of a birthday with a huge blessing in the middle.
That is a super gift love it:)
