a fantastic father's day

i had an amazing father's day weekend. i went out to dinner with my family, spent time outside with them in the wonderful weather and finished it off watching the movie courageous. kelly always gives fantastic gifts and this year was no different. she made me a new collage of pictures for my coffee mug using new pics of owen and everett dressed up in my clothes with the caption 'lord i want to be just like you because they want to be just like me...' it's a reminder to me of how much influence i have on my children's lives and that being a dad is not just a responsibility, it is a privilege.

to owen and everett,
you are two gifts that have blessed my life beyond words. with the both of you, i have the opportunity to leave a godly legacy by modeling what it means to be a godly man. i know i don't always succeed at it, but there are lessons to be taught by the failures as well as successes. i strive to be a godly example to you and i can only do that by following the example god has set before me in his word, character and actions. know that i am relying on god to lead me so that i may more confidently lead you. i pray that you read this years from now and know that your daddy loves you, is proud of you and prays for you daily. thanks for a terrific father's day. i look forward to many more to come.
